It’s a Wonderful Life

– Live Radio Play & Christmas Chaos

Instructor: Courtney Simson

Ho, ho, ho, TCT is ringing our jingle bells again to beckon our wonderful talented actors of all ages to come join the cast of our 2018 Christmas show!  Lots of parts for kids, teens, and adults!  “It’s a Wonderful Life Live Radio Play” is a one-act reader’s theater piece staged with live sound effects as if it is being broadcast from an actual studio in the 1940’s.  Period costumes, music, and the best part of all...NO MEMORIZATION REQUIRED, as actors will read their parts!  “A Christmas Chaos” is a one-act slapstick comic takeoff on Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol”.  An amateur company is hosting the Royal Shakespeare Company, who will be coming to perform the play for a large crowd.  But...but...they don’t show up!  And the hapless, disorganized troupe of community theater actors has to try to put it on FAST as best they can with two Tiny Tims fighting over the role, an actor playing two parts in the same scene, props that don’t work, and so on, utter madness, and tremendous fast-paced fun for actors and audience alike.  Don’t miss out  For more information email TCT at info@truckeecommunitytheater.com or visit our website at www.truckeecommunitytheater.com.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Instructor: Courtney Simson

Mark Twain’s beloved tale roars to life on our TCT stage this spring with a multi-age cast and live musicians accompanying the action on banjo, guitar, and harmonica!  Life along the Mississippi in the 1840’s was slow and quiet, for the most part. Still, a boy growing up in those times could find adventure and excitement... if he was Tom Sawyer, that is. Tom’s antics and daydreams fill the play with action, humor, drama and pathos. Despite the constant efforts of his long-suffering Aunt Polly, Tom would rather play hooky and spend time with that “dreadful boy” Huckleberry Finn.
